POLEMA is one of the largest manufacturers of metal powder materials for additive technologies in Russia. The annual sales volume is about 30 tons.
The plant supplies analogues of such popular foreign materials as
POLEMA is capable to produce spherical powders and provide services of spheroidization of Fe, Ni, Co, Mo, W, Сr-based powders.
POLEMA is the world's largest producer of electrolytic chromium and products made from it with extremely low content of impurities.
A unique method of refining electrolytic chromium makes it possible to get rid of oxygen, sulphur, nitrogen and hydrogen contained in the “crude” product.
As a result of high-temperature treatment in hydrogen of the primary electrolysis product, refined ERCr chromium is obtained with extremely low content of interstitial impurities.

Molybdenum is a high-melting metal included among transitional elements with a body-centered cubic lattice. It has high heat resistance, thermal and electrical conductivity. Molybdenum volume weight is almost twice lower than that of tungsten. Another material’s important feature is its high resistance to stress-rupture at high temperatures in vacuum and in protective atmosphere.
POLEMA uses in-house manufactured oxide-restored molybdenum powder with purity of 99.95-99.97 % as the starting material for production of molybdenum.
Molybdenum products include the following:- Molybdenum rolled stock and plates made from pure and lanthanum-oxide doped molybdenum
- Molybdenum boats
- Molybdenum rods, forgings
- Molybdenum sputtering targets
- Molybdenum alloys, such as MoW, MoLa and others
- Molybdenum crucibles and bowls
- Molybdenum screens
- Molybdenum electrodes for glass furnaces
Tungsten has exceptional refractory property and high structural behaviors, which allows its use for production of materials that operate under high temperatures and radiation levels.
POLEMA produces tungsten of high purity in terms of metallic and interstitial impurities (C, N, O, H). Small-grained structure allows to use it in the electronics manufacturing industry and as a heat-resistant construction material in electrical engineering and other devices that work at extremely high temperatures.
Tungsten products include the following:
- Sheets, plates
- Sputtering targets
- Crucibles
POLEMA produces heavy alloys for various industries.
The company produces tungsten- and molybdenum-based composite materials. Such alloys have high density, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, erosion resistance under increased loads and at high temperatures, and can be worked by turning.
Heavy allows products include the following:
- Molybdenum-tungsten alloys
- Tungsten-based composites and alloys
POLEMA is Russia's largest manufacturer of composite chromium-copper and tungsten-copper materials for high-current contacts in vacuum arc-quenching chambers.
Cr-Cu contacts are used in the vacuum arc-quenching chambers (VACs) of highly dependable, quick-acting vacuum circuit breakers capable of breaking large currents in high-voltage 6-35 kV electrical networks.
W-Cu contacts are used in VACs of vacuum contactors with a nominal voltage of 1.14 kV and higher in systems for remote control of electric drivers. The contacts are a long-lasting means of switching contactors in electric circuits on and off and ensure a low cut-off current in the system.
Degasifiers (getters) are substances capable of adsorbing and chemically binding all gases except for inert gases. Activated getters (cleared from the surface of adsorbed gases by heating in a vacuum) can sorb hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon oxides, hydrocarbons.
POLEMA produces non-sprayed (non-vaporizing) getters made of titanium and titanium alloys (Ti-Zr-Al) that are used in various technical fields for evacuation, improvement and maintenance of deep vacuum in electric vacuum devices, chambers, thermos, insulated pipes and other vacuum devices and systems.
Degasifiers help to improve and maintain deep vacuum in such pipes, which allows, for example, to increase the oil recovery factor from 6% to 28% compared to oil deposits development without thermal methods.
