Dmitry Medvedev visited Tula-Steel plant
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited Tula-Steel metallurgical plant on his working visit to the Tula region. The capabilities of the new enterprise were demonstrated to him by the IMH President, Evgeny Zubitskiy and the Governor of the Tula Region, Alexei Dyumin.
During his visit, the Prime Minister got acquainted with operation of the converter, continuous casting machine, rolling mill and finished products warehouse, as well as plans for further development of the plant.
Tula-Steel is an IMH partner enterprise. This is one of the largest investment projects implemented in the domestic metallurgy. Investments in the construction of the plant amounted to RUB 55 bln.
Tula-Steel became the first integrated manufacturer of high-quality long products from converter steel in the history of Russia. Plant's products will be used in construction, machine building and hardware industry. The plant will be able to produce about 1.8 mln tons of rolled products annually.
The enterprise uses the best available technologies in the field of environmental protection. For the first time in the domestic metallurgy practice, in addition to bag filters, an electrical filter is installed in the gas cleaning system of the oxygen converter shop that allows to effectively clean the outgoing converter gases. Also, the company operates a fully closed water cycle.
The company created 1,800 employments. Operation of Tula-Steel will provide about RUB 35 bln of the tax revenues to budgets at all levels until 2030.
